JUDITH SHARPE-LEVY: Georgia O'keefe
My name is Judith Sharpe-Levy,
I am pleased to be able to be part of this exhibition.........
my "Chica's" name is "Georgia on my mind".
I am from Detroit, MI. , I was lucky enough to go to a special high school for the arts and sciences. Upon graduating I went to New York City and attended the Art Students League for a short time, My life took a different turn and I returned to my home city where I worked in the graphic design part of the Automotive Industry for many years. Fine art was really on hold until later.
I was able to return to school in North Carolina. and to do many things with my training and skills. I was a partner in an art gallery in Decatur, Texas, where I created a custom framing business named Sharpe-Designs.......
After having to move to Alaska for my husband's job, I sold my business, and was playing with retirement when I was asked to teach beginning and intermediate drawing at the University of Alaska, Palmer campus, (filling in for a instructor that had to leave). I had never taught before but found it came natural and everyone was happy with my work,,,,,,,,I stayed several years until officially retiring.
At this point we took an purely adventurous turn and went to Uruguay for 6 years.......when returning for
family reasons, we found ourselves here in the Treasure Coast of Florida and am loving it. I am making friends in the art community and plan on being evolved as much as I can. I love to paint and love to take classes and learn new ways all the time. Thank you for being here for me.
